Another awesome way to experience the everglades.
The best part was John's show. He was funny, interesting and very charismatic. thought us about gators, crocs, snakes and other wildlife in the area, all while standing bare foot in a cage with two gators right beside him.
the speedboat was also a nice experience. we saw two gators in the water as well as birds and turtles. the ride itself is fun as well.
there are restrooms and a gift shop.
I really liked the boat tour and the wildlife show afterwards. The guides explained many interesting things about the animals and their natural habitats. I visited during the rain season on a very hot day. According to our guide it's better to visit during a less hot time of the year though to see even more wildlife, but it was still very nice. If you didn't manage to see any alligators or other wildlife during the boat tour I can strongly recommend to follow the road until cypress and hike. That's what we did and we saw snakes alligators and different birds :)
It was a great experience, It's a must! Recommended to visit during the sunset (last ride is at 5PM). We even this time of the year we saw a gator. It's a smaller place and not so crowded than some other tours in Everglades.
The locals were so nice to even give a ride back when I had issues to get a taxi due to the more remote location. Thanks again!
Title: A Day with Alligators: A Unique and Unforgettable Experience
Review:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My trip to Gator Park in Miami, Florida (24050 SW 8th St), nestled in the heart of the Everglades, was an adventure I would not easily forget. The visit occurred before the global pandemic, but the memories are as vivid as yesterday. It was an educational, entertaining, and, in many ways, an exhilarating journey that seamlessly fit into a day tour of Miami.
When I set foot on the airboat, I knew this would be more than sightseeing. Besides being humorous and courteous, our guide was a fountain of knowledge. As we sped through the Everglades, with the wind in our hair and excitement in our hearts, we not only spotted alligators but were also enlightened about their habitats, predators, and the other diverse species sharing their homes. The ride was nothing short of an exhilarating open-air classroom!
Following the airboat ride, the alligator show at the visitor center deepened our newfound knowledge. The captivating show introduced us to several alligators up close. While it made for fantastic photo ops, what struck me was the educational aspect. We learned in greater depth about alligators' diet, their predators, and the constant challenges they face for survival in the Everglades. The blend of entertainment and education was perfect, making the learning process fun and engaging.
In retrospect, Gator Park offered a remarkable experience, effortlessly merging education and adventure. The breathtaking views of the Everglades, the intimate encounter with the alligators, and the passionate, well-informed guides made this trip unforgettable. This visit was not just a detour but an essential part of my Miami tour, and it's a highly recommended experience for anyone visiting the city.
And yes, though I visited before the pandemic, and my photos might not reflect the current situation, the thrill of this adventure remains unchanged. I look forward to revisiting Gator Park and experiencing this unique blend of education and adventure.
I'll end this review by expressing my gratitude to the folks at Gator Park for creating an environment that fosters education, promotes conservation, and provides a thrilling experience for all visitors.
Guided boat tour was great, our tour guide was amazing, informative and had a great sense of humor. He was very knowledgeable, pointed out various animals and plants. Thoroughly enjoyed the animal demonstration later, show was very fun. Gift store had various souvenirs and bug spray. Highly recommend bug spray if in season. Great for kids, whole family had a great time.
